Here's a funny (now funny but it was not at the time) story about something that happened to me at the Fitness Expo last weekend. The Expo was part of the White Rock Marathon Weekend in Dallas. No, I didn't run the White Rock Marathon just the 5K but I did go walk around the Expo getting free samples of Cliff Bars and cool NASA shoe strings and brochures for future fun runs. There was a booth from a rice company that had a spin-the-wheel-to-win-a-prize thing. The prizes were things like a measuring cup (for your rice), a grocery list pad, a magnet, boxes of rice, etc...I spun the wheel and it landed on box of rice. So I got my box of rice and they guy said, hey, can we take your picture holding up the box of rice? I said, you only want to take my picture because I'm asian! He said, no, we have pictures of white people, black people, and hispanic people, too, so can we take your picture? And a different guy came out of the booth with a camera. I said, you are only wanting to take a picture because I'm asian. I'd rather not; I don't want my picture taken. The lady behind us in line said they should have asked to take my picture because I was pretty! I said, Thank you, yes, that would be much nicer! I wish I had been wearing my Angry Little Asian girl t-shirt.
